The McLane High School library is located south of the front office, across from the BH building. Our services include a wide variety of independent reading novels, selection assistance, textbook checkout and return, and student laptop support. The library can assist you with research, both online and in print. We can also print assignments, pictures for school projects, and resumes. Tutoring is available after school on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Unless we are closed for an event or testing, you are welcome to come to the library before or after school, and during lunch. If you have any questions or need support, feel free to email or message library staff.

Library Policies and Procedures:

  • All school rules must be followed in the library.
  • Students must have a valid ID number to check out anything from the library.
  • Students may come to the library during class with a complete and signed Library Pass from their teacher.
  • Students can check out up to three independent reading novels for a two-week period. Books can be renewed after the two-week period unless another student has requested it.
  • Library fines will be charged to Destiny account for all overdue books. Return or renew novels by the due date. Return textbooks at the end of each school year to avoid fines on your account.
  • Students may have ONE laptop checked out and will receive one charger with their device.
  • If your laptop or charger is not working, return to the library for technical support or to receive a new device.
  • If your laptop is damaged or lost, district fines apply.
  • Students may eat and drink in the concrete area of the library (before and after school, and during lunch).
  • When leaving the library, please push in chairs, clear tables, and return any borrowed items to the circulation desk.
